Tomorrow tomorrow … only a day away.

January 4, 2012

Just back for half hour from hospital before being formally admitted at 5.30 this evening to see anaesthetists … my heart causing more concern so they want me in there … cesarean will be tomorrow no idea what time but being starved from midnight … consultant said he’d try and swap things round so he could do it personally but otherwise his registrar and he will be up tonight for a visit.

All the staff at the hospital have been wonderful – inspite of the many hours in waiting rooms they have been superb and so supportive and bent over backwards on my behalf.

Torn between aaaaaaggggggghhhhhhhhhh and hurrah … on balance at the moment the former … it may happen tonight if my heart gets worse as an emergency … otherwise yes tomorrow … Thursday 5th January 2012.

Right off to find a bottle of vodka to smuggle into the hospital … ok I’m not … need to eat something to calm nerves … and once I’m there I can sit and write thank you cards for all my Christmas presents and contemplate my last night with tummy muscles.

Thanks again for the help, love, encouragement and support – so so appreciated by this so unprepared person … it’ll all be fine is my mantra for brushing my teeth to tonight back behind blue curtains.

These were the songs I was going to put onto CD for the unzipping but with no time left that ain’t going to happen – it will be whatever’s in the car CD drive – listening to them now is making me feel calmer … I’m going to meet The Spaniard tomorrow – how weird is that?

Songs for the Spaniard

Right then – time for a crumpet and a cup of hot milk then off we go …

The news is that at 3.43 pm Ellie gave birth to a baby girl called Hope weighing 6lb 12 oz. Ellie has tweeted that she has “tufty hair” and “a pretty mouth” but adds that “She’s poorly & in baby intensive care”.
Many, many, many congratulations to Ellie, Roy and baby Hope. What a wonderful start to the New Year. What a wondrous change to your lives.
