Free of the feeding tube at last
HURRAH YIPPPEEE AND YAHOOOOOOO!!!!!!! A MOMENTOUS DAY
Absolutely delighted to report that we are now free of the feeding tube … and so pleased. The lovely Tracy came round earlier and decided that Hope will be best off without it … so now it’s just up to me to make sure I keep up with her voracious appetite. We have a small bottle for back up or for a middle of the night feed but otherwise as the poster in the hospital says, “Breast is best” … and our small squirrel (as she is known when she is eating) is a hungry hungry breast feeder, although she does tend to have several courses rather than just one big meal.
Right … off out for a walk and to put some water on the sore patch on her little face where the tape attaching the tube was pulled off (there was so much on to ensure she couldn’t pull it out herself). Then perhaps a photo shoot of my little girl looking like a baby with no bits of plastic attached for the first time for 20 days … yup she is 20 days old today.
Happy me … oh and we had a disco this morning after nappy change at 8am and danced to some of the Seeger Sessions Band songs we were listening to in the delivery room when she was born… see you Further on Up the Road and Don’t Weep No More.
Great news , breast is definitely best and what a lovely feeting it is for Mum as well, well I thought so . I can not believe it is 20 days that is impossible!!! can not wait to meet Hope
Love and hugs for you all from Lincolnshire
So pleased that it is all going so well. See you both in a couple of weeks with hugs for both of you.
