This glorious sunny day our little Hope is officially 0 …

Today, 27th January is her official ‘due’ date. Easy to know exactly because of the IVF. At about 3.30pm 38 weeks ago she came into being in the little Spanish test tube in Alicante and our miracle began. It was a glorious sunny day in Alicante then and it is a wonderful spring like crispy blue day here in Cambridge today.

If she had been allowed to go full term and my aged old body had managed to carry her til today she was projected to weigh about 9lbs … as it is she is about at her birth weight of 6lbs 12oz but alert and beautiful. Without the feeding tube her mealtimes take much longer, she insists on at least 3 courses and generally has to have a cup of tea afterwards and maybe cheese and biscuits and then realises she’s overeaten and takes a while to settle down! We’re both finding our way and she seems to be as happy as I am.

It seemed fitting to mark this day, which is in some ways of no consequence as she is 22 days old already, with some photos from around the time she came into being in Alicante and also a few from Cambridge today.

So … she’s a full term baby now and should soon start fitting into 0-3 month clothes!

Happy ‘official’ birthday my little Hope xxx (like the Queen of England she can have 2 birthdays!!)
