Safe in the sun
We made it … long haul flight pah … well actually it was pretty grim, the first half anyway in that she was wide awake and very chatty and refused to go in her basinette and I was next to a couple of fairly grumpy people … but about half way in she decided to have a small snooze and woke up much more relaxed and I got to know the people around us including a lovely lady (an actor’s agent) in the row behind who held her so I could nip to the loo and walk up and down the aisle.
We’re now in 100 degree sunshine in Orange County and blissfully happy if utterly shattered but the love of Hope’s godmother, her wonderful swimming pool, beautiful home and peace of the area are a balm … and tomorrow we’re going whale and dolphin spotting on a little boat which is very exciting. Hope is charming everyone in her little cotton frocks and I just potter along in the background while her Aunty Clare pushes the ‘stroller’ as it’s called over here and pretends Hope is hers … I love watching them together.
Right – something more coherent in a day or two but for now, hurrah, we’re here and very happy.
